Who knows about the guy while holds up the sign “Smile it’s contagious” up in Kapolei Commons? I have never seen a homeless person smile so much while holding up his signs, asking for nothing but a smile and a wave in return from the people who drive by. I gave him food today while running errands. I drew a smiley face on the of his plate and wrote the word “SMILE”… as I waiting for the light to turn green, I watched him open up the bag and pull out the the plate. I swear the corners of his mouth reached his ears. He smiled so big, and he waved to me, then put his hand on his chest and said, “thank you so much,” started to cry, “this touched my heart. God bless you.” I waved back and smiled, yelled out my window and said “you’re very welcome, God bless you too”. Instead of opening his plate to eat, he puts it down and started to wave at the many cars, holding his sign, and smiling. I couldnt help but to tear up as i drove off to continue my errands. It felt good to see him with that huge smile on his face.
